Saints travel north to the Stadium of Light to tackle a Sunderland outfit that like them is nearly safe from relegation. The game being played on Sunday due to the FA Cup Final taking precedence on Saturday.

As things stand both sides will be banking on cup finalists Wigan failing to win at Arsenal on Tuesday, and hopefully losing to the gunners who are still embroiled in a fight for a Champions League place next season.

I actually believe that both teams are now safe as I just do not believe that Wigan can gain two victories in their last two league games to keep the pressure on.

Saints will be looking for only their fouth win away from home, and will be trying to gain revenge for the 1-0 defeat suffered to the Mackems at St Mary’s earlier this season.

Saints have now gone four games without a win and will be hoping that they can end their winless run with just the home game vesus Stoke remaining after this weekend.
