Mauricio Pochettino has praised the ‘big effort’ of the players in today’s hard earned one all draw with West Ham.

Speaking to saintsfc following the game Pochettino explained that the timing of West Ham’s equaliser took the sting out of our efforts to win the game.

‘You could say that we are a bit disappointed because I think we could have won, but we were unable to. We put in a big effort to get the three points but conceded the goal very quickly and it was hard to play on a pitch that was so wet against opponents who are very strong physically.’

Conceding in the manner we did, Poch puts down to just being the nature of football, but he does feel that if we could’ve kept the lead for longer we would have gone on to take all three points.
