With the tragic helicopter accident at the King Power Stadium and the loss of life, Southampton have had an extended break as our midweek EFL Cup tie against Leicester City was obviously postponed and although the condolences continue to come in, Saints do have to turn their eyes to this weekend’s clash with Manchester City.
Going into the Premier League clash just two points ahead of the relegation zone and with ongoing goalscoring issues with misfiring strikers at the club, it’s fair to say this one is probably not going to be pretty unless we manage to pull something entirely unexpected out of the hat.
Most fans can only see one outcome and it’s easy enough to see why given relative form but whether it’s good old gallows humour or not, some of the responses on social media to a Tweet the Southampton social media team posted yesterday did make me smile.

I'd definitely be happy with not scoring and getting a 0-0 this week! Best of luck lads #saintsfc
