A late Steve De Ridder strike salvaged a 10-man Southampton side a valuable point against the Royals as Nigel Adkins side maintained their lead at the top of the Championship table, the season in which the Saints would make their return to the Premier League after years away from the English top-flight.
The game against Reading, and De Ridder’s goal, hit a note with Southampton fans on social media, who flocked to re-watch the goal as well as give their memories from that match and express how important the result was for the Saints at the time.
