The Premier League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Manchester United this weekend.

Southampton travel to Manchester United on Saturday January 23 for the game at Old Trafford and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Mike Jones
Linesmen: A Garratt and I Hussin
Fourth Official: T Harrington

Match Day referee Jones (Chester) has officiated one Southampton game this season – the one nil win over Sunderland in November. In that game he showed four yellow cards, three to Southampton.

He has however already taken in 21 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he has handed out a total of 69 yellow cards and one red card.

He was most card happy in the match between Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday on August 22 with a total of six yellows being shown. Six was also the number between Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace and Manchester United in October.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
