Plenty of Southampton fans have been having their say about the club’s links with Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham.
With the future of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg still unclear, the Saints have been looking for a replacement and Football Insider has revealed that the Frenchman is on our shopping list to bring in if our captain leaves the club in the summer.
The report adds that Ntcham could be tempted to move to an established Premier League outfit and we could use this to our advantage.
Should Southampton sign Olivier Ntcham?
Yes
No
The Celtic faithful have been critical of him during the current campaign, and some suggest that they would not mind seeing him leave, which could give us more of an opportunity to capture him.
Ntcham has only scored four goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season, which could be another indicator that he may be closer to an exit.
With this in mind, supporters were not convinced by the links and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that maybe that sort of money would have been accepted back in 1995, while another stated that he would be a “shrewd buy” for the unrealistic low fee and he was described as a player that “turns like a bus”.
We have got some of our best players from Celtic and I think this would be a shrewd buy for £4.5mil. Realistically think he would be closer to £10mil though #SaintsFC

Maybe in 1995. You would only get his left boot for 4.5 million these days!

Spend every penny we get for Hojberg on Kalvin Phillips or Weston McKennie. #saintsfc https://t.co/8MOGVCDoI5
