After beating Portsmouth 4-0, Southampton discovered last night that their opponents for the fourth round of the League Cup would be none other than Manchester City, the reigning champions of the trophy as well as the current Premier League holders.
Yet despite facing a game against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium, plenty of Saints supporters on social media were still reeling from the high of beating Pompey earlier in the week, and were seemingly confident in Southampton getting a result over City.
Here is what some Southampton fans had to say on Twitter following the fourth round draw…

As previous results from 11v11 show, Southampton have had a fairly difficult time against City over the past few years, losing their past five games against the Manchester side.
