In recent weeks we could have run a regular feature on which former player or manager was up against Southampton.

This week it is the turn of Matthew Mills who left the Saints in the summer to move to Manchester City.

After only a few appearances for the Premiership side, Mills joined Colchester on loan and comes up against Southampton tonight.

Mills told the Echo: ‘I’ll be really fired up for Friday, playing against my old team. It’s a bit of a weird situation for me.

‘I grew up at Southampton as a kid and I left them last season to go to play in the Premiership with Manchester City and I’ll be going back with Colchester.’
