THE NATIONAL newspapers this morning are speculating on the latest news regarding Gareth Bale’s transfer.

Yesterday a reported £10 million bid was made from a club ‘other than Manchester United’, according to the Daily Mail.

The Mail reports that the bid is believed to have been from Arsenal.

Whilst the Mirror is reporting that it was Tottenham Hotspur who made the bid and they also suggest that the bid was accepted, reporting ‘TOTTENHAM boss Martin Jol was last night locked in negotiations with Southampton whizzkid Gareth Bale after having a £10million bid accepted.’

While the Independent, report that the £10 million was rejected and the Echo deny that the bid was made altogether!

A ‘source’ told the Echo: ‘There has been no bid from any club for £10m or any other bid other than the two that were rejected earlier this month.

‘While it is known that clubs other than Spurs and Manchester United remain interested, there has been no fresh approach and they have not yet made a bid’.
