Jos Hooiveld has bemoaned the freekick decision which gave West Ham there equaliser today, saying it was never a foul.

Speaking to saintsfc after the 1-1 draw, Hooiveld said of the incident.

‘I do think that the freekick against us should not have been given leading up to their goal because I think it was a great tackle to be fair. It was on the ball and not with a stretched leg, so I was a bit disappointed about that, as it then went in.’

Despite the pitch, Hooiveld says, like Pochettino, that we really deserved the victory based on the performance and how quiet we kept a physical West Ham side.

  • We have had a few dcisions like that but it doesn’t or shouldn’t stop us defending properly.

  • Happens doesn’t it. Don’t let it make you drop your head and move on, learning from it.
