The Saints have added Everton’s Lee Molyneux to their squad. The Everton left back has signed a two and a half year deal which keeps him at St. Mary’s until 2011.

The Liverpool born youngster has 24 England caps at Under 16, 17 and 18 level. Molyneux slipped two disks while playing for Everton Reserves and the youngster required an operation at the start of last season.

Molyneux is now fit, and considering Southampton’s full back issues, he seemed a perfect acquisition. Pending the F.A’s clearance policy, Molyneux may slot straight into Sunday’s team when the Saints host Manchester United in the F.A Cup.

Molyneux is a versatile player, with pace being a key asset. He can play left midfield which will appeal to manager Jan Poortvliet, and Molyneux will for sure be a good addition to the Saints squad.
