No extra Money for Burley

Saints chairman, Michael Wilde, has said that the Burley will have to sell players before Saints can bring in new signings this January. This may come as a shock for many Saints fans, originally presuming that Burley may be able to make a key purchase this coming January. With Saints 2 points off a play-off position, a successful signing this coming transfer window could prove valuable in the 2nd half of the season.

Wilde told the Daily echo:
‘We would have to look at the squad as a whole, I can’t say what money would be made available – it might depend on us having to offload players before we can bring new ones in.’

However, this has raised fears that some of Saints most thriving players will be put on the transfer market. The most valuable asset for Saints is defender Gareth Bale, who would probably fetch around £5m. However, Bale, who has recently been named in the ‘Top 50 of The Actim Index’, is one of Saints most prised possessions, and Wilde would be extremely foolish to sell him. An alternative would be David Prutton, although again, many Saints fans would like to see Prutton remain a Saint.
