With Southampton registering back to back Premier League defeats with the loss to Leicester City at the weekend, some fans weren’t slow to come forward with their criticisms on social media following the game as pre-season concerns begin to take precedence.
Whilst some fans are noticing positives from matches, it’s fair to say plenty in the fanbase are concerned that manager Mark Hughes has already lost his touch with the group with plenty of negatives on display in games and with Leicester taking the win in hugely disappointing circumstances, anger was certainly high.
Whether some have changed their minds with tempers reducing as time passes, well that remains to be seen, but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg certainly put himself into the firing line as he was sent from the pitch for two bookable offences.

Incredibly disappointing from Saints, lack the confidence and discipline to hold a lead. Hojbjerg was poor from the start and deserved the simulation card. We are somehow still searching for anyone to provide a lift.

The best you can probably give the man was it was a soft penalty and you see them given regularly and probably more often than not, but on the replay angles I’ve seen even if you allow for the fact there might have been slight contact, I’m not convinced it was enough to go down like that.
As you can see from the selection above, few are even prepared to give him that leeway.
