Manager Mauricio Pellegrino and Dusan Tadic have both been previewing Southampton’s clash against West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

Hosting Tony Pulis’ side at St Mary’s Stadium for the game, as Pellegrino spoke to saintsfc as he met with the press for his pre game conference, he focused in on an injury update.

Jeremy Pied has an ongoing injury but that’s the only issue for Pellegrino.

The Frenchman has only made one appearance so far this season, the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup, with Cedric favoured more often than not, but Pied is presumably out of contention for this weekend.

‘We have Jeremy Pied that is coming back, he is the only one who is in trouble right now. Nothing else.’

Reflecting back on the Newcastle game, Pellegrino also wanted to see a 90 performance based on the character we showed in the second half of that match.

‘The reaction and personality of the team to push them was good, in terms of character of the team was right. In the end the point is not good enough, we need to convert this in to victories and three points. But the reaction of the team was positive.’

As for Tadic in his own interview, he explained that the aim was to give the fans something to celebrate.

‘I think it is a disappointment, because we only take a point, but also we came back from losing the game. This is positive. We need to win these kinds of matches, we know it isn’t easy but we can play better. It is very important to win on Saturday, because winning games gives you extra confidence.’

He added.

‘We like to play in front of the home crowd, although we haven’t taken as many points as we’d like at home this season. But we’ll try to change that and try to make our fans happy. It is too early to think about the league table, every club is close to each other. But as the season goes on there is more emphasis on the table and then we’ll look at where we stand and where we want to be.’
