First match of the season and our opponents have decided to bring the new manager curse to St Mary’s.

Stoke City lose out as Reid quits them for Plymouth Argyle. Stoke manager Tony Pulis did say when peter joined, that he wouldn’t stand in his way if such an opportunity arose.

Peter played for the Saints briefly when Ian Branfoot brought him to the Dell. He did well in the 8 games he was here for as he started the coming together of our team.

During his 8 game spell with us he was involved in the notable victory over Newcastle in which Le Tiss scored twice. His final game was the 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Peter left after Branfoot was sacked as he felt it was the right thing to do in the circumstances.

His magerial career to date hasn’t been brilliant but he does have a heck of a lot of experience to call upon.

My hope is that he does not bring the new manager curse to our club when he visits. The one advantage we have is the fact that we have 7 weeks to prepare for Plymouth and their visit.

Good luck Petr but not until after our game please.
