Saints are set to make the long trip west to fellow Southerners Plymouth Argyle.

The Saints have not won in seven matches, the last coming at the Madejski of all places. With Reading coming to St. Mary’s in two days you would feel that today’s encounter is a must win game.

Plymouth sit in 13th place on 30 points – just 7 points off the play-offs. A win today for Sturrock’s men would keep their play-off dream alive.

SAINTS TEAM NEWS: Morgan Schneiderlin is once again out with a recurring hamstring injury. Defenders Wayne Thomas and Michael Svensson are still out for Jan Poortvliet; while midfielder Anthony Pulis may deputise for the Saints today after recovering from a foot injury.

PLYMOUTH TEAM NEWS: Strikers Rory Fallon (suspension) and Emile Mpenza (hamstring) are set to return this afternoon for the Pilgrims; while captain Karl Duguid may feature after recovering from a calf injury.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS: The last 5 encounters at Home Park have ended in a point for either side four times.
