With yesterday’s news about the sacking of vice chairman Les Reed at Southampton, it certainly caused a stir amongst fans on social media.

Chairman Ralph Krueger said in his statement announcing the news that Reed would be remembered fondly for the part he played in helping us to rise through the league pyramid once more, and firmly establish ourselves as a Premier League club – and if you’re being generous he more than played a role in that, as well as our short-term European hopes before the wheels fell off and the Southampton Way turned into a cul-de-sac of relegation battles that we can’t seem to escape.
The latter comment is how most fans will remember him, whether that’s fair or not.
That point was admirably proven by how fans reacted to the news of the 65-year-old’s departure from the club on social media. Although it was heartening to see some separate the early years out.

Agreed. And it's also time for Krueger to go, to be replaced by a new Chairman who does not believe that we are a "small" Club.

As I said previously, Reed probably needed to go so we could have a proper fresh broom through the levels at the club, but he’s far from alone in needing to be refreshed.
