Southampton gaffer George Burley has said that everyone at the club must stick together.
It’s a desperate cry from a desperate man.
With no wins in March and only 4 wins in 2007 the Saints have fallen from the automatic promotion hunt to almost, out of the playoff hunt as well.
In his Echo column he said: ‘Now is the time for everyone to believe we are going in the right direction and work hard to try and make up the ground on the top six.
We have got to get back into it after a disappointing last four games where we only picked up one point.’
Burley continues by asking for blind faith by saying: ‘You’ve got to have that belief that things will turn.
There are still seven games to go and still 21 points to play for, which is a lot.
So it’s a case of taking one game at a time, working hard and not giving so many soft goals away to give us that opportunity to win games.
The only way forward now is to work hard and battle away and try to get back into it.
If you believe in working hard, concentrating and really working together, you’ll get results.’
