David Prutton completed 90 minutes against Eastleigh last night, but Saints failed to beat the Confrence South side for the second time this season.

Despite controlling large parts of the game Saints lost the game 1-0 after a fluke goal by Martin Beck. The ball sailed over young pole Bartosz Bialkowski in a David Seaman-esque style.

Despite the result Saints fans will be encouraged that another of the ‘old guard’ is now returning to fitness after a long lay off.

Prutton’s return will add competition to a midfield where Saints already have a lot of personnel.

Jermaine Wright, Jhon Viafara, Inigo Idiakez, Drew Surman, Mario Licka and now Prutton will all be vying for a place in the midfield.

  • Will he ever play for the Saints proper again or are they just putting him in the shop window for Jan transfer window??

I reckon the latter, and we need to keep playing the same team as much as possible for this gelling the GB keeps on about. Would be a shame to see him go but from what I hear through other forums he wants to go. So let him.
