With the rise of social media, it’s often said ‘someone’ has ‘won the internet’ these days and a few other phrases equally apply, but someone in Southampton’s offices arguably did just that this week.
With the announcement that former manager Harry Redknapp had signed up to that ‘Celebrity’ show in the Jungle, for most people I doubt it was news or crossed their radar and I’m only aware of it owing to the media team’s Tweet.
Following his ill-fated spell with us many years ago, it’s fair to say there is a ‘love/hate’ relationship with Redknapp – namely, most Southampton fans love to hate him following his defection.

The responses to the Tweet show fans certainly took it in the spirit it was intended and it seemed to brighten up most people’s start to the week.
I just wish I’d seen it earlier myself!
