After our summer chase of winger Moussa Djenepo, plenty of Southampton fans wondered what we could expect from the 21-year-old Mali international.
Saturday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium, gave most fans their first chance to watch him properly in action as Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhuttl selected him on the substitutes bench, and he made his debut as a 77th minute replacement for Ryan Bertrand.
Despite only getting 13 minutes at the end of the game, he was pretty impressive and statistics website Whoscored credited him with a 100% pass accuracy (admittedly only from six passes) but he wasn’t shy of showing for the ball and he contributed to how we ended the match as we chased a leveller.

Should be starting. Seemed decent when he came on. Quick feet bit of pace. Reminds me Mane.

Really impressed by his performance even if only brief. Ironic that Mane had to bring him down as he was getting close to goal. Looking forward to seeing him this season.

It was good seeing him but idk why he played LWB. At least put him on for a cb and go with 4 at the back. He has great potential
