“Reminds Me Of Mane” – Summer Arrivals Cameo Appearance Excites These Southampton Fans

|

After our summer chase of winger Moussa Djenepo, plenty of Southampton fans wondered what we could expect from the 21-year-old Mali international.

Saturday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at St Mary’s Stadium, gave most fans their first chance to watch him properly in action as Austrian manager Ralph Hasenhuttl selected him on the substitutes bench, and he made his debut as a 77th minute replacement for Ryan Bertrand.

Despite only getting 13 minutes at the end of the game, he was pretty impressive and statistics website Whoscored credited him with a 100% pass accuracy (admittedly only from six passes) but he wasn’t shy of showing for the ball and he contributed to how we ended the match as we chased a leveller.

With our gaffer having positive words for his efforts following his introduction, plenty of fans were happy with what they saw as the expectation is we’ll see far better in the future as he settles into life at the club.
