It’s been a busy weekend for Southampton fans with the reports claiming that we’d struck a deal with Aston Villa for Academy graduate Matt Targett as well as Birmingham City for the services of Che Adams and with more departures (and arrivals) expected, it seems midfielder Mario Lemina’s future could now be in doubt.

The Telegraph over the weekend led with the Targett and Adams news obviously but as their coverage continued, they moved on to talk about the future of strikers Sam Gallagher, Charlie Austin and they added Mario Lemina to the expected list of departures given the reports we’ve already seen.

I’m not sure what The Telegraph are actually leaning on here to suggest 25-year-old Lemina’s departure other than injury causing limited game time last year, but with an expectation that he’s one of our higher earners should a very decent offer arrive, given the further development of JWP and Hojbjerg last season, I could see us cashing in but I’d still think it would be a surprising development really.
