Report Names The Fee Required To Tempt Celtic Man To Southampton This Summer

|

It’s been reported this week that Southampton could be tempted into making a move for Celtic and Australian midfielder Tom Rogic.

The 26-year-old has played a key role in helping Celtic to an eighth successive Premiership title up in Scotland and in 33 appearances for both Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon this season, he’s chipped in with five goals.

A report in the Sydney Morning Herald this week tipped the player for a move to the Premier League over the summer and whilst Rodgers, now at Leicester City, was speculated to be interested in teaming up with him again, Southampton were also mentioned in passing – but they believed it would take a record fee for an Australian player to tempt Celtic into selling.

With our history with Celtic involving Victor Wanyama, Virgil van Dijk and Stuart Armstrong, it’s an easy link to make but they do say we’ve been tracking him for the last two years – but the sticking point is he has four years apparently left on his deal according to them, so a fee in excess of 23million Euros is rumoured to be required.

I’m not so sure I can see this one happening.
