Southampton are reportedly one of the clubs interested in Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, is set to be available in the January transfer window.
According to ESPN, the Saints, as well as Watford and European sides Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, are all interested in the Barcelona youngster, who this week was the star for the La Liga giants in their Champions League match against Inter Milan, with WhoScored awarding the French prospect the Man of the Match award.
With the report claiming that Barcelona are in need of raising over €124m before the summer to avoid a hit from FFP, Todibo is an ideal player for the Catalan club to move on in the January transfer window.

As stats from Transfermarkt show, the former Toulouse defender has only played over 160 minutes of football this season, playing just five games in total for Barcelona a year after making the move from the Ligue 1 side, and the youngster could be ideal for Southampton.
As reported by The Mirror via HITC, Ralph Hasenhuttl is looking for defensive reinforcements in the January window, with the Premier League table showing that Southampton have conceded the most goals out of any side in the English top-flight, and despite Todibo’s lack of first-team football this season, the Frenchman could be a good pick up for Southampton.
Todibo showed this week against Inter that he is a player that is more than capable of competing at the highest level in European football, and at Southampton where the Premier League side have been sloppy defensively this season, the 20-year-old centre-back will be a great addition to the club.
With other clubs chasing the defender, Southampton will need to act fast on the £7.2m-rated defender as per Transfermarkt, who could be the solution to the Saints problems in the second half of the season.
