With Southampton’s capture of Moussa Djenepo and plenty of other transfer speculation doing the rounds on the rumour mill this summer, a new name for me as last week came to a close was Francois Kamano.
The 23-year-old versatile attacker played in at least seven positions for French club Bordeaux in 2018/19, operating on both flanks as well as through the middle in both midfield and attack and he did score 11 times in 45 games according to statistics website Whoscored.
Tuttomercatoweb recently claimed that we had an interest in the player and that talks were already underway with his representatives.
He also has 23 caps for Guinea, so given his age, he certainly has reasonable experience and given manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s words about the type of player he’s wanting the club to target this summer, he does tick plenty of those boxes for me, even if I don’t believe I’ve seen him in action.
Depending on the fee, if we do have an interest the only real question for me is does our Austrian gaffer have a particular position in mind for him, or does he become a jack of all trades filling in as we need?
