Talking to the Saints Player Chaplow said that he thought that the goal had been coming for a while. Adding that scoring was a part of the game that he was striving to add to his already good alround game.

He aid, ‘I think it’s been coming for a while now. I’ve had a few chances since I came here and it’s something that I’m trying to add to my game if I can. I think throughout the team today we’ve passed the ball well and we’ve encouraged each other when passes went astray, and that third goal epitomised the team’s performance.’

Chaplow added that the team started with a high tempo which is something that the team always tries to do. He also said that the team was disappointed not to be leading by more at half-time.

The team went out for the second half with even more desire to start fast again as richard said that the team wanted to emulate the start produced in the first half.

He added that it was good to see Lee Holmes and Guly do Prado come on and do well as it showed that we have strength in depth.

Richard appears to be thoroughly enjoying his second spell with the club and we all look forward to seeing him sign a full contract in January.

He certainly hasn’t done his chances any harm as he appears to be cementing his claim for a regular start in the midfield.

Chaplow has seen enough of the team now to feel that recent performances havbe given him the confidence to feel we are worthy of a top six place and even an automatic promotion place.

All we need to do now is continue the home form on Tuesday night and start taking it away with us on our travels.

All in all a good performance from the team which stems from having a midfield that is working well. Long may it continue.
