With news this week again linking Northern Ireland international skipper Steven Davis with a return to Scotland and Rangers, a number of Southampton fans have been having their say on what is now regular speculation in the media about a return north of the border.
The 33-year-old continues to find game time hard to come by under manager Mark Hughes, despite now fully recovering from his earlier injury, and with only a handful of minutes to his name in 2018/19 it seems like his time might be up at the club after his six-year spell as a servant.
To save repeating the latest rumour – I’ll just link my earlier piece.

The suggestions of a return to Ibrox are now long-standing and as manager Steven Gerrard has already brought back former players Allan McGregor and Kyle Lafferty that has probably only increased calls for Davis to return really.
Steven Davis has been fantastic for us, and a ridiculous bargain at 800k, but with his playing time limited now, it would be a nice bookend for him to go back to #rangers in January. #saintsfc

Agreed he’s no longer premier league quality

I think he’s been brilliant for us and a great ambassador for the club. However, I think this is the best move to take away the temptation of playing him. He doesn’t cut it any more. A move to Rangers would benefit both

With it being no secret that Rangers fans would welcome him back with open arms, a number of Southampton fans feel it would also be a great way for the player to his career as he moves into his twilight years.
