Saints striker Marek Saganowski returns from Danish side Aalborg to boost Southampton’s strike force.

The Polish international enjoyed his loan spell with the Danish side, having played regularly in the Champions League. However, the 30 year old declared his excitement about returning to the south coast: ‘I’ve missed Southampton and I want to come back to help the team,’ he said. ‘I want the same as the fans do – I want to play and I want to score goals.’

Saganowski was a fans favourite and will always be remembered for his fine hat-trick at Molineux when the Saints bulldozed the Wolves 6-0.

He always played with a smile on his face and gave it 100% – Saganowski has once again vowed how he will give it his all when wearing the famous Southampton strip: ‘I can’t guarantee what will happen before the end of the season, but I promise that I will put my whole heart in whenever I am on the pitch.’

Saganowski is expected to feature tomorrow when the Saints make the long trip up to Barnsley which is a crucial game for Poortvliet’s side.
