Polish striker Marek Saganowski has again said how much he wants to stay at Southampton next season.

Saganowski picked up a hattrick in the 6-0 win over promotion hopefuls Wolves, but didn’t realise he could keep the match ball after the game.

He told the official site: ‘I did not know about this. I scored three hat-tricks in Poland and two in Portugal but I never got the ball there.

‘Now I will clean it and get them all to sign it to mark my first hat-trick in English football.’

On wanting to stay at Southampton he said: ‘I want to stay at Southampton whether we are in the Premiership or not. I like the club, the people and the city and my family are very happy here too.

I don’t know what is happening at the end of the season but if possible I would like to stay.’
