Southampton have appointed fellow Dutchman Dean Gorre as first team coach, who will work along side manager Jan Poortvliet.
Gorre has been working with the Saints in recent weeks on a non-contract basis. The club have assessed his involvement and have offered the Dutchman the role of assistant to Poortvliet.
The 37 year old has an impressive playing C.V having played at Feyenoord and Ajax in the Dutch league.
The midfielder also has experience of the football league, having had spells at Blackpool, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town.
Gorre has coaching experience in England, having just left the Reserve head coach position at Stoke City, to join up with Southampton and fellow Dutchman, Jan Poortvliet.
