Southampton fans have a few hopes for this summer when it comes to our wheeling and dealing in the transfer market as not only is it key that we get arrivals right so manager Ralph Hasenhuttl can kick on in 2019/20 and look to move us back up the table, departures will also be important when it comes to raising funds after previous failures.

One those departures will be £19million flop Guido Carrillo, as at least given the speculation so far, Hasenhuttl doesn’t sound like he wants to give him a clean slate and with Greek speculation as previously covered, Argentine side Boca Juniors are said to have an interest in the 28-year-old.

Media outlet Doble Amarillahas recently claimed that the club have already sent scouts (including club boss Nicola Burdisso) to watch him in action and they do have an interest in taking him on, but Boca haven’t yet made firm contact with Southampton to discuss a deal.

They also don’t speculate on a price but few fans will be thinking we can break even here given his performances for us and, despite a better loan spell at Leganes in 2018/19, he still only found the net six times with one assist it seems.

Some transfer just never work out but this one hasn’t worked out in some style.
