It’s being reported that Southampton could be in pole position to sign out of contract Palace right back Nathaniel Clyne.

A number of reports suggest that the clubs are close to a fee for the player, so they can avoid training compensation and a tribunal, but Clyne has been linked with a host of clubs so it’s not as set as the reports are making out just yet.

Would be a fantastic addition to the squad if we could secure his signing though.

Others are running with the story that we are planning on offering £8m for both Clyne and Wilfried Zaha, but I can’t really see that being accepted by Palace as they turned down £7m for Zaha from Bolton in the last window.
