Southampton have confirmed that they are in talks with Japanese star Tadanari Lee.
Lee, who is a striker, has been training with the Saints at their Staplewood training ground, while he waits for his work permit.
The 26-year-old was the star player in the J-League, scoring 15 times in 32 games for Sanfrecce Hiroshima as he helped them claim the league title.
Lee has made 10 appearances for Japan – and will always be remembered for his last minute winner against Australia in the Asia Cup Final last year.
