Saints Looking To Move On Disappointing Duo

It’s being reported this week that Southampton have conceded they have little chance of making their money back on striker flop Guido Carrillo so we are hoping to get him out on a loan spell where his stock can rise once again.

Having been brought in by former manager Mauricio Pellegrino, Carrillo cost us a whopping £19million and with ten appearances to his name last season, the Argentinian 27-year-old failed to return a single goal.

Sky Sports have reported that we are hoping to quickly strike a deal with Leganes for the forward and they also say that we are open for offers when it comes to winger Sofiane Boufal.

Carrillo is said to want regular game time and he knows he won’t get that under Mark Hughes who has been left less than impressed with him and clearly he’s not in his plans this year as he, and Boufal, have been omitted from our pre-season tour of China.

Sky believe that a deal could be done within the next 24 hours.

As for Boufal, he goes back to Claude Puel who signed him from Lille for £16million and whilst he clearly has talent, he only featured under Hughes twice with a reported fall out taking place, so it’s no surprise to see we are inviting offers to get the Moroccan off our books. Again, whether or not that is a permanent move or a loan to begin remains to be seen.

As we look to rebuild, I know fans won’t be overly upset at these developments.
