With Remembrance Day this coming Saturday, Saints will support the Poppy Appeal by wearing a special strip against Sunderland this coming saturday.

Saints are planning to raise money for the charity by auctioning the players shirts after the game this Saturday. Last year £8,000 was raised in support for the charity, with saints officials hoping to raise even more this year. Officials have decided to leave the shirts left unwashed to prove the authenticity of each shirt.

The Shirt going on auction will not only be embroided with the poppy emblem, but it will also be the only chance for fans to purchase the Saints Yellow 3rd team kit this season.
A picture of one of the shirts to be auctioned can be seen below:

  • Blimey I thought for a minute it was a POMPEY appeal. Good idea though – you’re not as bad as most Pompey fans would suggest….

  • brilliant idea…more teams should consider things like this and help a greater cause…hope you raise a lot with it for this very worthwhile cause ….
