Administrator Mark Fry believes that Southampton FC could find a buyer in the next 24 hours.
It has been rumoured that there are two very interested parties for the south coast outfit.
Fry will now enter serious talks with the favourite to buy the club – the Pinnacle group, led by Saints legend Matthew Le Tissier.
This is a very late stage in the deal and if things run smoothly, Southampton can focus their minds on next season, without the fear of extinction creeping in.
Fry revealed that there has been some late interest in buying the club, and will be working to seal the deal for the Hampshire club.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Fry explained the situation: “We are talking to a couple of seriously interested parties and there are some late expressions of interest, but we are hoping to align ourselves with a potential bidder within the next 48 hours.”
