Saints Top Agent Spending Table

Saints have topped the football agent spending table for clubs outside of the Premiership for the first six months of this season spending an amazing £842,533 on an apparent 52 transactions.

The championship contributed to 88% of money spent on agents for clubs in the football league. Southampton`s big spending is a huge increase on what they spent in the same period last year when they used £275,000 on agent fees. Leeds United topped the spending table for this period last year when they splashed out £567,800 on agents fees.

Southampton topping this table does go some way in the line with the fact that Saints were pretty active in the transfer market during the summer transfer window, and obviously the more transfers that are processed by a club means more cash is spent on football agents as a consequence.

Altogether football league clubs spent an amazing £6.21 million on agents in the first six month period of this season, listed below is the top five biggest spenders:
