Southampton manager Mark Hughes took the first team to the Molineux last weekend to face last season’s Championship title winners Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The game was largely level from a statistics point of view, in terms of possession and we actually created more chances on the day but our Achilles heel is goalscoring and that’s not a surprise for anyone. The hosts took their chances to take all three points and Hughes was left pretty much saying the same things at the full-time whistle.

It’s fair to say a number of fans are already losing faith and patience with Hughes, especially in light of some of his post game choices of words and takes on how games have gone for us, but there are those who point out he’s not exactly helping himself when it comes to sticking with players who just aren’t doing a job out on the pitch.
Same old stuff Mark. Stop being so loyal to certain players and drop them completely. Play people who will actually fight for the shirt. #saintsfc

I'm starting to understand more and more with each game why stoke fans couldn't stand him

I can’t understand today's collapse. It was looking pretty decent. And yeah, Hughes is just spouting nonsense.

Always said it, one of the worst football managers of our time. Didn’t want him at our club. JUST kept us up without really setting the world on fire. Club have lost their way @SouthamptonFC #saintsfc

With pressure mounting some need taking out of the firing line and others given a chance to impress and it’s one thing Hughes calling on people to step up now but he has to give them the chance to.
