Former Southampton striker Scott McDonald could be set to return to England with Southend.

The little Australian was let go by Southampton in 2003 and after spells with Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Milton Keynes he finally settled in the SPL with Motherwell where he has hit 36 league goals from 97 starts. Putting in some eye catching performances against Rangers and Celtic in the last couple of seasons.
