Billy Sharp has said he’s dreaming of the Premiership after his two goals put Peterborough to the sword.

Speaking to saintsfc after his brace, Sharp talked about the upcoming Middlesbrough fixture which could seal us promotion.

‘Obviously we’re delighted to get three points, but there’s still two games to go. If we win on Saturday then we’ve done it, so hopefully we’ll go there and get three points. For myself and a lot of players here who haven’t played in the Premier League, it’d be a dream. It’s be an honour. I’ve still got improvements to make to my game, but you can only improve when you get to the top.’

As for the Peterborough game, Sharp was delighted to see us get back on track after the Reading disappointment and show the response the fans wanted to see.

‘It was important to get off to a good start after our last result, and we did just that. We knew it was in our hands, we had to react from the disappointment.’

Once we get over the line and secure promotion, then we can look at nicking back first place – just be nice if Reading made it a little easier over the next two!
