Southampton’s new home shirt is on sale at the princely sum of £50, making us the joint third most expensive in the league.

The only shirts more expensive in the Premiership come from the Manchester duo.

Man City £55/£42
Man United £55/£42
Arsenal £50/£40
Everton £50/£40
Saints £50/£40
Chelsea £49.99/£39.99
Fulham £49.99/£34.99
West Brom £49.99/£39.99
West Ham £49.99/£39.99
Aston Villa £46/£40
Crystal Palace £46/£35
Liverpool £45/£35
Norwich £45/£35

Newcastle £44.99/£31.99

The Daily Echo were there for the opening day and whilst 70% in an online poll weren’t exactly enamoured with the lack of stripes again, those turning up to purchase the shirt seemed pretty happy with things.

  • terrible prices top to bottom really. We really do get ripped off. I know no one makes us, but they play on the loyalty of fans.

  • Rotherham United are charging £40 for League One shirts – though you do get a discount with season tickets. Still ridiculous prices aren’t they

  • DAYLIGHT BLOODY ROBBERY THAT PRICE. I won’t be getting one even if I liked it which me don’t.

  • Yes they are expensive but we have little or no choice if we wish to remain up to date. So though we do have a choice it is not much of one.
