So How Do We Think Nigel Is Doing?

His first game came at MK Dons and as he had only been with us for two days I don’t count it as a game where he could do much to change the way we had been playing.

The next game at home to Colchester saw us still struggling to find the back of the net as we fought out a no score draw. This result looks better now having seen how Colchester are doing away from home.

The win at Sheffield Wednesday was a big boost and showed that Nigel can make suitable adjustments as required in a game.

Yeovil away was a disappointment and was a bit like the old story of a brilliant win followed by mediocrity.

The home game to Bournemouth again showed that Nigel is not afraid to call the changes and we desevedly beat the Cherries with a show of power to combat the strong Bournemouth side.

Tranmere at home was much too easy and we should in all honesty have won by more than the two goals that we scored.

Huddersfield away was always going to be difficult and so it proved. In the first half we were torn apart time and time again. The second half was better and if Guly had taken his chance early on we might have been able to make a game of it.

Oldham at home was the first time this season that we were able to come back after letting the opposition score first. A good fighting performance and in the end a well deserved win.

yesterday it was Notts County away and again after a poor first half we had to come from behind with County scoring early.

The fact that we did so speaks volumes about the team and the manager as we are now looking much stronger than previously.

The most noticeable thing for me is the way that Nigel has the nous to change things that make us more combative and in the right places too boot.

I think we have taken to the man as well, with his honest reporting of what he has seen during a match. All in all I think that this will prove to be the best decision that Nicola will make whilst here.

Nigel for me is fully up to the job and is more than capable of making difficult decisions when necessary.
