Over the weekend Southampton confirmed that Carlos Compagnucci and Xavier Tamarit had been added to our backroom staff.

The duo arrive as Mauricio Pellegrino’s picks from his former club Alaves and it means our backroom staff is now complete ahead of the coming 2017/18 campaign.

48 year old Compagnucci is Argentinian and comes in as assistant manager, whilst 35 year old Spaniard Tamarit comes in as assistant first team coach.

Eric Black remains as senior first team coach.

The backroom boys are completed by already in place head of goalkeeping Dave Watson and head of sports science/first team strength and conditioning coach Alek Gross.

Pascal Plancque, appointed to Claude Puel’s staff last season, has now left the club.
