Southampton Are Going Ginger, Wait, Hold On A Minute

|

It’s been reported this week that Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is now potentially preparing a move for Austrian attacking midfielder Thomas Goiginger.

The 26-year-old doesn’t appear to have great game time according to Soccerbase as having come through SV Grodig’s setup, he made the move to ASK Linz in the summer of 2017 and they tally his career appearances as being 65 starts and 31 substitute showings – but he has contributed 14 goals in that time. I don’t believe they are right here, and he was recently given his maiden Austrian international call.

In 2018/19 they have him down as playing 31 Austrian league matches, with six goals returned.

In any event, the Daily Mail claim that the winger has been tracked by Hasenhuttl since January, and could now be ready to make a £5milion move for him.

There’s not really any concrete information in their report and they quite quickly pad things with the Ademola Lookman speculation, but maybe a name worth remembering. The chants would write themselves if nothing else.
