Football for heroes week is the Football Leagues way of showing our backing for our boys serving their country so well. As part of our plans we are designating the Leeds United game towards this.

Saints have already done a bit for this cause by doing a special tickets offer for members of the armed services for the Brighton game. All proceeds from the sale of tickets to the servicemen went into the ‘Help For Heroes’ funds.

And to boost funds further Saints have planned a whole host of events for the week. These events are arranged to maximise the coverage and awareness of the charity which helps sevicemen and women that have been injured in the line of duty.

These events include.
A promotional photo shoot with Kelvin Davis, Morgan Schneiderlin and David Connolly.

Saints and Leeds players both emerging from the tunnel behind a ‘Help For Heroes’ banner.

The team captains and match officials will do a photo shoot at kick off in front of a ‘Help For Heroes’ banner.

Alan Pardew and Simon Grayson will both wear ‘Help For Heroes’ wristbands during the length of the game.

The Saints first team will sign a Football League ‘Help For Heroes’ ball which will be sold at auction for the charity.

Paul Wotton will also visit Marchwood Army Barracks to see the troops and have a guided tour of the base.

This is an excellent cause and one which I know will be close to many Saints fans who have relatives serving in our armed forces overseas.
