Southampton are bracing themselves for an approach by Portsmouth for the services of manager Harry Redknapp.

Mandaric told Sky Sports News they will now turn their attention to Harry Redknapp to try to take him back to Fratton Park after Neil Warnock turned down the chance to move from Sheffield United. ‘We are going to approach Southampton today and ask for permission to talk to Harry.’

He will also re-approach Glasgow Rangers for the second time to ask permission to speak to Alex McLeish. Rangers have already re-butted one approach, as did Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan following an approach to talk to Iain Dowie.

Rupert Lowe has been unavailable for comment.
