The initial 35 man selection sees the 22-year-old back in the group and he has already made his debut at international level for his country. Following his recent performances for Southampton given our relegation battles this season, his form had already been noted by many fans and it appears he will now get the chance to build on his solitary cap so far.
The selection will be cut down to a final 23 on June 4th and Bednarek will be hopeful of keeping his place and working his way into contention for the Group H World Cup games against Colombia, Japan and Senegal in Russia this summer.
Having made his Premier League debut for Southampton in the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea last month, where he scored our second goal on the day, Bednarek has been a mainstay since then under manager Mark Hughes.
Southampton fans have responded with delight to his inclusion given his growing stock with us.
Very much deserved. I don't think I was alone in thinking he wasn't up to the task at the beginning of the season but he's learnt and developed really quickly. Looking forward to see how far he can go in the coming years.
