Southampton have this evening confirmed the speculation linking us with a deal today for Liverpool striker Danny Ings.

The Southampton born 26-year-old was the subject of plenty of interest today apparently and we fought off other suitors to capture him on a loan spell for the entire 2018/19 campaign. There is a buy clause in place on the deal that we can enact next summer apparently and at least from the text and the words used on the confirmation release from the club, it sounds like it’s guaranteed and automatic.
With the specifics of the deal remaining undisclosed where we found agreement given the speculation on his permanent transfer fee remains open for debate, but either way he’s ours.

Given the injuries that he suffered following his move from Burnley to Liverpool and how his spell at Anfield went, Ings is going to want to prove a point and that could work out perfectly for us, especially if he can hit the ground running and stake his claim for a starting spot amongst our other strikers.
It should be win, win.
Take care of him????

Given the well wishes being expressed by Liverpool fans on his departure, that speaks volumes with Mark Hughes crediting his attitude so fingers crossed this works out how we all want now.
