We may have had to fight but this win at home to Charlton could be a big, big win. The game on Tuesday night at Bristol Rovers has now taken on even more importance. Rovers know that their slim hopes will be totally shot if they lose.

Huddersfield will be decidedly nervous now as they can see how quickly a lead can disappear. If we beat Rovers we will still be pushing them hard for their place. They will be feeling the pressure as well with them playing Walsall at home.

Two more difficult games follow with Saints at Yeovil next Saturday. This is after Huddersfield play in front of the cameras on Friday.

Huddersfield play at home and they know it will not be easy as Millwall have a chance of the second automatic place. The place is in their control if they keep winning as they are a point in front of Leeds.

So bring on Tuesday and let us see what happens next.

  • Now we have to go to Bristol Rovers and keep the run going. I am getting excited as we get ever closer.

  • We will need to make a change or two if we want to beat Rovers. Rovers will want to stay above us if they can. Lose to us and their season is over.

  • We are still involved but it is getting very tight. teams above still need to drop points or it will all be to no avail.

  • The pressure is really beginning to tell now. Both teams yesterday seemed more conscious of the need to protect more than the need to attack. we edged it slightly but Charlton could so easily have grabbed a point. I wish we would just go for broke and attack, attack, attack. Win or lose it would be a lot more fun.

  • Had to work so was pleased to see we had kept our hopes alive. Will be sweating on the Rovers game as we have struggled against them twice this season already.

  • So are you expecting top six? Without the ten-point deduction, that is where you could have been but it seems a mite ambitious now, although you’ve a good squad. How’s Dean Hammond been playing?
