Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl could add another player to his squad after reports in the Hull Daily Mail suggest the club are interested in signing Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.

The outlet suggests there are two Premier League clubs competing for the midfielder – Everton and Southampton.

The 22-year-old winger was in great form last season, scoring 22 goals and providing four assists from his 46 league games. Tottenham were reported to be interested in the Englishman but, according to a report in Football League World, they have dropped out of the running, leaving the path clear for the Toffees and Saints.

Southampton may have to act fast if they want to sign the midfielder as Everton hold one big advantage over the south coast club; Everton boss Marco Silva worked with Bowen when he was in charge of Hull.

Hasenhuttl has already set about transforming his team as he prepares for his first full season in the Premier League, and the Austrian has already signed Moussa Djenepo from Belgian side Standard Liege.

The 20-year-old Mali international became Hasenhuttl’s first signing as Southampton manager, whole Reports in the Telegraph suggest he is also interested in Birmingham’s Che Adams. That move could swiftly be followed with a bid for Bowen, who according to Football League World, does expect to leave Hull this summer.
